Our learners enjoyed a delightful morning at Kew Gardens hosted, not only by the lovely Lily O'Connor and her assistant Emya, BUT also by three of our own lovely EAL learners who are now official Kew Gardens volunteers!

 

The weather was perfect in the early autumn sunshine while everyone busily worked on their new journalsdrawing, sketching and sticking interesting samples of nature to admire, learn and preserve.

 

We are so lucky to have three more of these sessions to look forward to this term. The 23 participants spoke the following home languages:  

 

Turkish, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Amharic, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.

 

Many learners met each other for the first time, and the event was great for lively and useful social interaction.
